Duration: ca 9-10 minutes.

This work was commissioned for the 1986 Edington Festival of Church Music and the Liturgy, Wiltshire. Its text conflates lines from the psalms, from Centuries of Meditations by Thomas Traherne and from the Tabill of Confessioun by the 15th - 16th century Scottish poet, William Dunbar. The work responded originally to a request to meditate freely upon the Passion, and might be considered suitable pre-eminently for Easter but is appropriate also for more general use. It is a challenging work with an important organ part.
